The Evening
On Saturday December 2, 2023 we will honor our 2023 Leadership Award winners, hear from two rising female leadership in Washington, party with our fabulous drag queens, and bid on some amazing auction items. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Location: Eventide | 3229 Fairview Avenue E, Seattle, WA, 98102
Date & Time: Saturday, December 2. Doors open at 5:00pm. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm. The program finishes at 8:30 pm and the event ends at 11:00 pm.
Dress: Cocktail
Parking: There is free street parking on Fairview Ave E and Fuhrman Ave E. There are handicap spots, but otherwise limited parking, in the venue parking lot.
When you arrive: Upon arrival you'll be greeted by our team and can check your coats. You'll collect your escort name card with your table number and meal choice, and your two drink tickets. With your drink tickets enjoy our signature cocktail, a Pisco Sour, or a drink of your choice from the bar. Then make your way to the Silent Auction table and use your phone to bid on our fabulous items!
The Auction
We have some exciting auction items up for bid at the gala. You can check out auction and start your bidding now! Items include wine, sports tickets and memorabilia, experiences, art, and gift baskets. We’d like to thank all the auction item donors for their support of Center for Women & Democracy. 100% of the proceeds raised at the gala will support CWD programming in 2024.
Your Impact
By attending Making Waves you help ensure our programming is accessible to women from different backgrounds including women of color, transgender, LGBTQ+, youth, disabled members, socioeconomic status, and those who face inequities due to their gender.
Supporting us at the gala means we can continue to foster diverse spaces for women from all backgrounds to have opportunities to learn from, advocate with, and build relationships with powerful women. These programs include our Global Delegation trips, Women at the Capitol visit, advocacy and leadership training, and our many educational and social events.
Our Emcee
Our emcee Tiernan Madorno will host and guide us through a magical evening! Tiernan has enjoyed an eclectic career journey, stemming from her experience as a professional actor. She currently combines passion and purpose in role by welcoming new hires into Microsoft's Marketing Consumer Business Group. In her 6 plus years with Microsoft, Tiernan has had the privilege to act as Global Pride Co-Director, and has led Communications & Culture Strategy for the Microsoft Advertising team.
